Transcript for October 30, 2010: Why We Need Monsters! (& Halloween Too)
Here’s our Halloween edition of #UFchat – which happened somehow despite all sorts of computer and health issue craziness at #UFchat headquarters! I expected a tiny turnout due to weekend Halloween parties but we had plenty of opinions and ideas contributing, which was wonderful to see. π

TOPIC: Why We Need Monsters! (& the Importance of Halloween)
We get into all kinds of classic monsters, not-so-classic monsters, urban legends, urban myths-in-the-making, dealing with fear and much more! There are a TON of resources at the end of this week’s transcript, including some fun lists for reading and viewing (and don’t forget to add The X-Files series to your viewing lists)!

One final announcement: if anyone comes across the story of the zombie toddler being fed by it’s human parents, please let me know! (There is much interest in finding this one – you will be loved by many if you can hunt this one down.) Google has lost much of its “fu” in the recent ‘upgrades’ and despite knowing the short story very well, including actual phrases I can quote I cannot find it! The author is female, the story is available to read free online and someone on Twitter originally posted it as a guest entry on their blog, though I don’t think it was specifically UF related at the time, nor on the topic of Halloween. It may actually have been posted on the theme of parents.. with a possible title of “The Terrible Twos” (or similar). Many thanks for all hunters tracking this story!

I’m attempting to get things fixed ore permanently so I can be on Twitter during the week and prep for chats. I’m still hoping to put together the Halloween reading list in time for next Saturday’s #UFchat too – wish me luck in hunting down and capturing all the gremlins at #UFchat headquarters!
